all that is solid…
TarraWarra Museum of Art
2 September – 12 November 2017
Artists:
Patrick Pound, Cyrus Tang, Tom Nicholson, Didem Erk.
All that is solid was the third exhibition in the TarraWarra International series, designed to showcase leading contemporary art practice in a global context. The Australian and international artists in this exhibition depicted precarious histories, and their art offered imaginative responses. Many of them used the format of the archival fragment as a starting point for their work – a photograph or video from days gone by. Others depicted the current social changes, turbulent conflicts, and altered political landscapes with a new imaginative filter. The artists in TarraWarra International: All that is solid… were Didem Erk (Turkey); Cao Fei (China); Tom Nicholson (Australia); Patrick Pound (Australia); Cyrus Tang (Australia).
